One
woman
wished upon
the first shiny
Dandelion puff,
“Oh, please save all of us
from our very long winters.”
Away flew those small magic seeds
floating in the air like winged fairies,
each one bringing a bright message of hope
to someone forgotten, to someone sobbing,
to someone giving up, to someone questioning,
to someone bent over with pain, to someone grasping –
one tiny seed of hope for each dear person on this earth.
“Our collective spirits are so tired,” sighed the woman.
“We need understanding, forgiveness, comfort, hugs,
laughter and kindness to heal our weary wounds.”
Then Dandelion beckoned, “Spring is here.
Look around. The winds of grieving time
have blown past the icy cold scenes.
Sunny dreams are up ahead.
Thanks for being patient.
I’m glad you waited . . .
Your heart’s springtime
Will arrive.
Peace.Love.
Joy!”
